Selecting The Right Battery
Our range of Leisure batteries have been designed to give you the right power for your specific use and demands. Select a battery with a high enough Ah (Ampere Hour) capacity to meet Ah power demands and leave a little in reserve. Excessive load on a smaller battery will severely affect its recharge times and battery life. An example below to show how to calculate and select the right Ah capacity battery.
There is a simple equation you can use to estimate the size of battery or battery bank you require.
- Divide the power consumption in watts by the battery Voltage, this gives you the number of Amps you require.
- Then multiply the number of Amps by the length of time you require the battery to last for between charging.
- This gives you the total number of amps required, you can build this up on a table similar to the one below to allow you to estimate the size of battery of battery bank you need.
- Then add 30% onto your calculation as margin of safety for varying usages.
